Ingredients

  • 8 oz Ahi Tuna steak
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp canola oil
  • ⅛ teaspoon of salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 lime, sliced into wedges

Jamaica Spiced Salsa:

  • 1 cup yellow tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup of fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup pineapple, roughly chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, finely diced
  • 1 Fresno chili, finely diced
  • 1 clove of garlic, grated
  • 3 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/16 teaspoon ground cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinade the ahi tuna steaks in the lime juice, canola oil, salt, and pepper for 15 minutes.

Mix all salsa ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

Heat a nonstick pan to medium high heat and sear ahi tuna steak for 3 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Let rest for 2 minutes before slicing.

Plate the seared tuna, top with salsa, and garnish with a squeeze of lime juice. Serve and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions

You can make this salsa as spicy as you want by keeping some or all the jalapeno and Fresno pepper seeds. You can make this salsa as chunky or as smooth as you like by putting all the ingredients in a food processor and giving it a few pulses.
